QJ Series Deep Well Pumps, High-Head Submersible Pumps

Important Usage Information:

1. Before use, the motor cavity must be completely filled with water to prevent false filling. Tighten the water-injection and air-release plugs; otherwise, operation is prohibited.

2. Land-based test operation shall not exceed one second of power-on.

3. The electric pump must not be used in an inverted or tilted position.

4. The motor must be fully submerged in water, but the submersion depth shall not exceed 70 meters.

5. Connect lead wires and cables according to specified procedures.

6. For ordering high-lift submersible pumps for special wells, refer to the High-Lift Submersible Pump Catalog and High-Lift Submersible Pump User Manual. During installation, the mandatory protective measure of “securing the motor base to the pump connection pipe with wire” must be implemented to prevent accidental incidents.

Purpose and Features:

The QJ submersible well pump is an energy-efficient product designed in accordance with national standards. It is widely used for farmland irrigation, industrial and mining enterprises' water supply and drainage, as well as for human and livestock water use in plateau and mountainous regions.

This pump consists of a QJ submersible pump and a YQS submersible motor integrated into a single unit that operates submerged underwater. It features a simple structure, compact size, light weight, easy installation and maintenance, as well as safe, reliable, and highly energy-efficient operation.

Operation, Maintenance, Preservation:

1. Power Supply Requirements:

(1) Rated frequency of 50 Hz. The motor terminal must be supplied with a three-phase AC power source rated at 380 ± 5% volts (special order required for 660-volt user voltage).

(2) Transformer load power shall not exceed 75% of its rated capacity.

(3) When the transformer is located far from the well, consider voltage drop in the power line. For motors exceeding 45 kW, the distance from the transformer to the wellhead must not exceed 20 meters. If greater than 20 meters, the power line specification must be two sizes larger than the rated cable specification, and account for voltage drop.

2. Water Quality Requirements:

(1) Generally non-corrosive clean water.

(2) Sand content in water shall not exceed 0.01% (by mass).

(3) pH value shall be within the range of 6.5–8.5.

(4) Chloride ion content in water shall not exceed 400 mg/L.

(5) Hydrogen sulfide content shall not exceed 1.5 mg/L.

(6) Water temperature shall not exceed 20°C.

3. Wellbore Requirements:

The wellbore must be straight and smooth, free of protrusions or misaligned casing. The internal diameter shall not be less than the corresponding motor frame size.

Structural Features:

1. The pump is centrifugal or mixed-flow type; it employs water-lubricated bearings; the connection to the motor uses a rigid coupling. The impeller rotates driven by the motor, generating centrifugal force that increases the liquid's energy. This energy, combined with the pump casing's flow-guiding effect, facilitates water lifting. A check valve assembly is installed at the pump's upper end to prevent damage to working components caused by backflow in the riser pipe when the electric pump stops. The valve features a drain hole to slowly release water from the pipeline, preventing freezing and cracking during winter. (Note: Low-head submersible pumps do not include a check valve assembly.)

2. The motor adopts a sealed, water-filled wet-type structure. The stator windings use water-resistant polyethylene-insulated, nylon-sheathed multi-layer electromagnetic wire. Both guide bearings and thrust bearings employ water-lubricated materials. The motor cavity is filled with clean water for cooling and bearing lubrication. A pressure-regulating diaphragm at the motor base compensates for pressure differentials caused by thermal expansion and contraction of the water due to motor temperature rise. A sand-proof mechanism on the motor shaft prevents silt and sand from entering the motor housing.

3. Piping System: Used to connect the electric pump for hoisting into the well and transporting water to the surface. It primarily consists of short discharge pipes, water delivery pipes, elbows, clamps, and other components. The short discharge pipe serves as the transition component connecting the water delivery pipeline to the electric pump. Elbows are installed at the wellhead to alter the water flow direction. Clamps secure the discharge pipeline during the electric pump installation process.

Important Notes:

Cable joints must strictly follow the attached diagram:

1. Before lowering into the shaft, inspect all screws for looseness, check the cable for tears, verify the motor is free of water ingress, and ensure the motor shaft and pump shaft rotate smoothly without obstruction;

2. Before lowering into the shaft, verify the motor resistance is above 150 megohms;

3. When filling the motor with water, carefully prevent false fullness; never start operation before completely filling with clean water;  

4. Ensure all protective switches and starting equipment are fully equipped as specified.

5. Perform a major overhaul after 2500 hours of motor operation and a minor inspection after 1500 hours.

6. Drain all water from the motor when storing the pump after shutdown.

7. Strictly prohibit unqualified personnel from disassembling or repairing the unit. All maintenance must be conducted at the manufacturer or authorized repair facilities.

8. Avoid frequent “start-stop” cycles.

9. During pump installation, prevent foreign objects from falling into the well.

uctions for Watering:

Before placing the electric pump into a well or other water source, the motor must be completely filled with clean water (free of sand). During filling, the motor must be positioned vertically without tilting. First, unscrew the two filling plugs on the coupling section. As shown in the illustration, insert a conical funnel or water hose into one hole on the coupling flange for initial flushing, while the other hole serves as an air vent. After filling, open the bottom drain plug to flush the interior cavity until the discharged water runs clear. Then, tighten the bottom drain bolt and proceed with the formal filling. After filling, allow the motor to stand for about 30 minutes to ensure all air bubbles in the windings escape completely (gently shaking the motor may accelerate bubble release). Finally, add a small amount of water to fill the motor completely, then screw in and tighten the two water-filling screws on the stiffening plate.
