LG smart tumble dryer not draining, where is the pump filter

If your LG smart tumble dryer is not draining, the issue is likely related to the pump filter or drainage system. Here’s how to locate and check the pump filter:

Where is the Pump Filter in an LG Tumble Dryer?

In most LG vented tumble dryers, the pump filter (also called the condenser filter or lint filter) is located in one of these places:

  1. Inside the Door Opening – Check around the door seal or just inside the drum opening. There may be a small mesh filter that collects lint.

  2. Behind a Small Access Panel – Some models have a filter near the bottom front of the dryer, behind a small hatch.

  3. Near the Condenser (Heat Pump Models) – If your dryer is a condenser or heat pump model, the filter may be behind the condenser unit (which you may need to remove first).

Steps to Clean the Pump Filter:

  1. Unplug the dryer for safety.

  2. Locate the filter (check your user manual if unsure).

  3. Remove the filter and clean it thoroughly under running water.

  4. Check the drain hose (if accessible) for blockages.

  5. Reinstall the filter and test the dryer.

If Water Still Isn’t Draining:

  • Check the drain pump (some models have an accessible pump at the bottom).

  • Inspect the drain hose for kinks or blockages.

  • If the issue persists, there may be a fault with the pump itself, requiring professional repair.
