Gasoline, Petroleum, and Fuel Drum Pumps

I. Definition of HD Petrol Drum Pump

The HD petrol drum pump is a specialised explosion-proof and anti-static transfer device within the HD series of drum pumps, developed specifically for flammable and explosive refined petroleum products such as petrol, diesel, and kerosene. Powered by either electric or pneumatic means, it is primarily used for extraction, decanting, transfer, and filling operations involving standard 55-gallon (200L) oil drums.

The equipment is designed in accordance with safety standards for flammable and explosive liquids, encompassing materials, structure, and electrical/pneumatic systems. It features spark-free operation, anti-static properties, leak prevention, and corrosion resistance, making it a dedicated safety-rated solution for refined petroleum product transfer scenarios.

II. Core Positioning of the HD Petrol Drum Pump

1. Dedicated Conveying Equipment for Flammable and Explosive Oils

Distinct from ordinary chemical drum pumps or water pumps, the HD Petrol Drum Pump focuses on the safe conveyance of petrol, light hydrocarbons, and solvent oils. It is an essential, specialised pump for high-risk environments such as oil depots, petrol stations, automotive workshops, and chemical production facilities.

2. Optimised for 55-Gallon Standard Drums

Pump hose length and drum-mouth mounting structure are precisely matched to 200L drums, enabling direct access to the drum base, minimal residual liquid, and stable placement. Specifically engineered for bulk transfer of industrially drummed petrol.

3. Intrinsically Safe and Compliant Equipment

Features explosion-proof certification and anti-static construction, eliminating safety hazards from electrical sparks, static accumulation, and leakage/evaporation at source. Fully complies with hazardous chemical handling safety standards.

4. Efficient, Sealed, and Eco-Friendly Transfer Solution

Replaces manual oil transfer with sealed, spill-free, low-evaporation delivery. Enhances operational efficiency while reducing safety and environmental risks.

III. Power Drive Module

As the "power heart" of the HD gasoline barrel pump, this module completely eliminates ignition sources such as electric sparks and mechanical overheating. It is divided into two versions: explosion-proof electric and intrinsically safe pneumatic, which accurately meet the safety needs of different operating scenarios:

1. Explosion-Proof Electric Power Unit (HD-EX Series)

Adopts a customized flame-proof motor with an explosion-proof grade of Ex d II B T4 (upgraded to Ex d II C T4 for high-end models). The motor shell is made of cast aluminum anti-static material, with a spark-free commutation structure inside. The carbon brushes are made of wear-resistant explosion-proof material, and no electric sparks are generated during operation. The power is accurately calibrated to 370W-880W, which not only meets the efficiency requirement of quickly emptying a 55-gallon gasoline barrel in 2-3 minutes but also avoids excessive heat generated by high-power operation. The motor is equipped with double protection against overload and overheating, which automatically shuts down when the gasoline transportation is blocked, preventing the motor from overheating and igniting gasoline vapor.

2. Intrinsically Safe Pneumatic Unit (HD-EXQ Series)

Adopts a vane-type anti-static pneumatic motor, without circuits or windings, achieving "zero sparks and zero heat" in principle. The explosion-proof grade reaches Ex d II C T4, which is suitable for high-risk environments such as confined areas of oil depots and 0/1 zones with excessive gasoline vapor concentration. The motor shell is integrated with an anti-static coating, and the air consumption is controlled at 0.3-0.8 m³/min, which is compatible with conventional industrial air compressors. It is equipped with an explosion-proof muffler, which not only reduces operating noise but also avoids static sparks at the exhaust port. The core components adopt fluororubber seals resistant to gasoline corrosion, ensuring no aging or air leakage when in long-term contact with gasoline vapor.

3. General Structural Optimization

The power modules all adopt a portable lightweight design (net weight ≤ 5kg), and the handle is equipped with an anti-static rubber sheath, which is convenient for operators to quickly switch between multiple 55-gallon gasoline barrels and avoids static transfer between the human body and the equipment.

IV. Conveying Core Module

This module is the key part in direct contact with gasoline, achieving "triple exclusive optimization" in size adaptation, material selection, and structural design, balancing safety and efficiency:

1. 55-Gallon Exclusive Pump Tube Design

The standard length of the pump tube is 950mm, which is precisely adapted to the actual height of a 55-gallon (200L) gasoline barrel (about 960mm). After insertion, it can reach ≤ 10mm from the bottom of the barrel, and the residual liquid volume is controlled within 0.3L, avoiding waste and safety hazards caused by gasoline residue. The outer diameter of the pump tube is designed to 48mm, perfectly matching the standard mouth (50mm) of a 55-gallon gasoline barrel. With an anti-static rubber positioning ring, it is stable without shaking and seamless after placement, preventing gasoline vapor from escaping from the barrel mouth.

2. Selection of Anti-Static and Oil-Resistant Materials

The core material of the pump tube is 6061 aluminum alloy (conventional model) or316L stainless steel (high-end model), both of which have undergone anti-static treatment, and the surface resistance is controlled at 10⁶-10⁹Ω, which can quickly export static electricity generated during gasoline transportation. The use of ordinary plastic materials is strictly prohibited to eliminate the risk of static accumulation from the source. The impeller is made of gasoline-resistant engineering plastic (PPS) or stainless steel, with no hard metal friction with the pump tube during operation, eliminating mechanical sparks. The bottom is equipped with a stainless steel anti-static filter screen (aperture ≤ 2mm) to filter impurities in gasoline and avoid sparks generated by impurity friction.

3. Shaftless Sealed Conveying Structure

Adopts the iconic shaftless quick-release structure of the HD series. The pump tube is connected to the power module through an explosion-proof threaded coupling, and a fluororubber oil-resistant sealing ring is used to achieve "zero leakage". The flow channel adopts a fully enclosed design, reducing the volatilization of gasoline during transportation, which not only reduces safety hazards but also meets environmental protection requirements. The pump tube adopts a segmented design, which can be disassembled without tools, facilitating the cleaning of residual gasoline and avoiding safety risks caused by gasoline carbon deposition.

V. Safety Protection Module

This is the core feature that distinguishes the HD gasoline barrel pump from other special barrel pumps. It integrates three protection systems: anti-static, anti-leakage, and explosion-proof linkage, forming a comprehensive safety barrier:

1. Anti-Static Linkage Protection System

The whole machine is equipped with a copper special anti-static grounding clamp, and the clamp head adopts a toothed design, which can be firmly connected to the grounding electrode to ensure that the grounding resistance ≤ 4Ω. The grounding clamp is connected to the pump tube and the power module through a special anti-static wire, forming an electrostatic export loop of "equipment - human body - earth". At the same time, the positioning ring at the contact between the pump tube and the barrel wall is embedded with anti-static fibers to further eliminate electrostatic friction between the equipment and the barrel body.

2. Double Protection System Against Leakage

The outlet of the pump tube is equipped with aHD exclusive explosion-proof check valve, which adopts an oil-resistant fluororubber sealed valve core. It can be closed instantly after the equipment is shut down to prevent gasoline backflow and dripping. An auxiliary sealing ring is added at the connection between the power module and the pump tube to form double sealing. Even if the main seal is aged, it can prevent gasoline leakage. The outlet is equipped with an oil-resistant anti-static hose connector, which is compatible with special gasoline conveying hoses to avoid spillage caused by hose detachment.

3. Explosion-Proof Linkage Control Accessories

The electric model is equipped with an explosion-proof power plug and explosion-proof switch, and the power cord adopts a mining-grade explosion-proof rubber-sheathed cable, which is oil-resistant, wear-resistant, and anti-static. The pneumatic model is equipped with an explosion-proof pneumatic triplet, integrating filtering, pressure relief, and oil mist functions, filtering moisture and impurities in compressed air to prevent damage to the motor. At the same time, the oil mist device adds special oil-resistant lubricating oil to extend the service life of the motor. All metal connectors are treated with explosion-proof chrome plating, without sharp edges and corners, eliminating mechanical sparks caused by impact.
